In short: we collect only what we need to give you your mock tests and results, we never sell your data, and payments are handled securely by Razorpay, so we never see or store your card or bank details.

1. Who we are

NET English Tests (netenglishtests.com, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an online test-preparation service for UGC-NET, SET and SLET English aspirants, owned and operated by Jayshri Amar Sontakke (Proprietor) from Dombivli (West), Maharashtra, India. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Information we collect

Details you give us: your name, email address and mobile/WhatsApp number when you register, buy a test series, fill in a form or write to us.
Test data: your answers, scores, ranks and time taken on our mock tests, so that we can show your results and analysis.
Payment information: payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We receive only the payment status, amount and transaction ID. We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password.
Technical data: basic information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit, collected through server logs and cookies.

3. How we use your information

To create and manage your account and give you access to the tests you have registered for or purchased.
To show your scores, answer explanations and performance analysis.
To confirm payments, send receipts and handle refund requests.
To send you test schedules, result updates and important service messages.
To send occasional updates about new tests and offers, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
To improve our website, questions and services, and to prevent fraud or misuse.

4. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the website to work (for example, to keep you logged in and to save test progress) and for basic usage statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, such as tests and checkout, may not work properly without them.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers who help us run the website, such as our hosting provider (Hostinger), our payment gateway (Razorpay) and email services, and only as much as they need to do their job.
Authorities, when we are required to do so by law, court order or a lawful government request.

If you join our Telegram channel or WhatsApp group, your use of those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Data security and retention

Our website uses SSL encryption (https), and access to user data is limited to people who need it to run the service. No method of storing data online is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information. We keep your account and test data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for records and legal purposes. Payment records are kept as required by Indian tax and accounting laws.

7. Your rights

In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian laws, you may ask us to:

tell you what personal data we hold about you;
correct or update inaccurate details;
delete your account and personal data (except records we must keep by law);
stop sending you promotional messages.

8. Age

Our services are meant for graduates and postgraduates preparing for competitive examinations, and are intended for users aged 18 or above. If you are under 18, please use the site only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Grievance Officer

If you have any complaint or concern about how your personal data is handled, please contact our Grievance Officer, Jayshri Amar Sontakke, at info@netenglishtests.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and try to resolve it within 30 days.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
