Why are there no papers after 2018? Since December 2018, NTA has conducted UGC-NET as a computer-based test and does not publish the question papers. Candidates can only view their own response sheet for a few days before the result. So the “UGC-NET English question paper” PDFs for 2019 onwards that you find online are not official NTA releases. On this page we link only to official papers released by the UGC-NET Bureau.

How to Use These Papers

1

Start with 2012–2018

From June 2012, both Paper II and Paper III were objective (multiple choice), so these papers are the closest to today’s exam. Before that, Paper III was descriptive.

2

Time yourself

Today’s Paper 2 has 100 questions. Old Paper II had 50 and Paper III had 75, so solve them together under a timer for realistic practice.

3

Note the repeated topics

Many authors, texts and theory questions keep coming back. Mark them unit-wise as you solve, and revise those first.

4

Why only up to 2018?

Since December 2018, NTA runs NET as a computer-based test and does not publish the question papers. Papers for later years found online are not official copies.

Practise on the Real NET Pattern

Old papers show you what was asked. Our mock tests follow today’s pattern, with an explanation for every answer.
